Is my information secure?


Yes. Lightning Reach takes your privacy and data security seriously. Any personal information you share with us – such as details in your profile or financial data – is stored securely and used only to assess your eligibility for support.


We never see or store your passwords, and any data you choose to share (including bank transactions, if applicable) is read-only and never used for any purpose other than to support your application. Lightning Reach and our partner organisations operate in line with UK GDPR and data protection laws.


How long is my information stored?


By law, our partner organisations must retain basic information – such as your name and payment records – for a minimum of six years for tax and audit purposes. They will delete your information earlier if you request it and no legal requirement prevents this.


Lightning Reach will also store your data securely for up to six years from the date you submit your information through the portal. If you connect a bank account, we may retain read-only access to that account’s transaction data for up to 90 days from the date of access.
