Receiving an invite to use Lightning verification
If you have applied directly to one of our partners for support, they may have invited you to use Lightning to verify your application.
You will receive an email which will take you through the necessary steps to complete your verification. You do not need to complete your profile to use this service.
What is Lightning verification?
Depending on which grant you have applied to, you will be asked to complete some, or all, of the following:
- Financial Verification - by linking your accounts through Lightning, the grants team can quickly and securely review your financial situation. You can see more about Financial Verification here.
- Identity Verification - to help us identify any fraudulent applications, we securely checking your name, date of birth and address with online identity verification services.
- Additional documents - some of our partners need additional evidence from you, which can be uploaded through our portal.
None of our verification checks have any impact on your credit score.
How long will it take to use Lightning?
The whole Lightning process shouldn't take longer than a few minutes. Lightning’s goal is to make the funding application much quicker than traditional methods, which involve manually sending bank statements, enabling you to apply for financial support more quickly.
Filling out your profile
Your invite link is specifically for you to provide verification and evidence for an existing grant application.
You do not need to complete your profile in order to use Lightning verification. But if you want to see if there is any other support available to you via Lightning, you can fill in your details and we will check if you are a match for any of our available support.
