What is the Lightning portal?

Lightning is working with grant giving organisations to make the funding application process as quick and safe as possible for you. Lightning, is a social impact startup which uses modern and secure technology to make it quick and easy for anyone in need to apply for financial support.

Using the Lightning application portal allows you to:

• Easily and securely connect your online bank accounts to provide the financial information needed to proceed with your application, instead of sending bank statements.

• Create a profile that can also help you to find and apply for financial support from other providers easily and securely - all in one place.

How does it work?

First you will complete your profile. This includes information about you and your financial situation and will be used to determine which of our grants you could be eligible to receive.

Once you have completed your profile, our platform will generate a list of Support Matches. These are grants that you meet the criteria to apply to.

Applying for a grant

Once you have been matched to a grant, you can complete the application. This varies by grant but may include connecting your bank account, verifying your identity, answering additional questions and uploading documents.
